It improves blood flow to the brain, limbs, and uterus by relaxing smooth muscles of blood vessels. It is prescribed for peripheral vascular diseases, cerebral vascular insufficiency, Raynaud's phenomenon, and varicose veins. In obstetrics, it is used to prevent premature labor (preterm labor), threatened abortion, and miscarriage by relaxing uterine muscles and increasing blood supply to the fetus.
